Hollywood and Kevin's new station

Saturday, Aug 2nd Kevin and I decided to take our Korean kids, Mia and Mary to Hollywood and then on the way home stop by Kevin's new station so they could check it out. Kevin had the great idea of parking in North Hollywood and taking the subway to Hollywood/Hyland where the El Capiton and Mann Chinese theaters are. So we park and go underground to hop on the next subway going to our destination and what happened was one of the worst things a person in charge of kids could ever imagine. The subway pulls up, people start to get out, and when we start to get in one of the girls doesn't make it before the doors start to shut. So me, being so maternal, freaks out and I put my hand in the door to stop it from closing. Kevin being the smart one and seeing that my hand was getting smashed in the door pulls the emergency door release lever and the door opens. So if that wasn't bad enough it turns out that the subway wasn't going anywhere after all cause it was at the end of the track so they close the doors to reset it to go the other directions and then people are supposed to get on after they open the doors again. So let's just say once I found that out I felt quite foolish and just wanted the subway ride to be over.
Once we got to our destination the rest the time was awesome. The girls got to see the hand and footprints outside the Mann Chinese Theater and all the stars down Hollywood blvd, as well as eating at the Disney ice cream parlor next to El Capitan Theater. And don't worry the ride back on the subway went much smoother. :)
Then, the best part of the day, according to the girls. We got to check out Kevin's new station and it is awesome. It's a brand new station that was built a little over a year ago, everything in it is super new and nice. We let the girls have the camera for the day so that they could take pictures of whatever they wanted so I hope you enjoy our memories!!!
